About

Ahillleas Rokni (founder)

Hello and welcome to Please Expand. I'm Ahilleas, your host. I haven't always had a passion for non-fiction books. Four years ago my friend suggested that we do a bookclub as a way of forcing each other to get through arduously long and grueling non-fiction books. It turned out to be a great idea and the inspiration for Please Expand

When I'm not working on Please Expand, I'm working on my PhD thesis. I'm in the Philosophy department at the University of Warwick; my thesis is on G. W. F. Hegel's Science of Logic - a pretty huge book. If you're interested in checking out some of the stuff that I and my colleagues have organised, feel free to check our website.

I'm also currently co-editor of Pli, the graduate journal of Philosophy at Warwick.

Aside from these extremely rewarding and remunerative activities I like to go on walks, watch Hitchcock films, and go on holiday to Greece and Italy.
